CBCT-Guided Root Canal Treatment for North Finchley Patients

A CBCT scan isn't needed for every root canal. It is useful when a 2D X-ray misses details. You may need this imaging if you have persistent pain after a root canal, as it can reveal missed canals or hidden infections. It also helps identify tiny vertical root fractures that are hard to see on standard X-rays. We use CBCT to map unusually complex or curved root canal anatomy before starting. We design the process for precision and comfort. First, we have a 30 minute consultation to discuss your symptoms. The CBCT scan is quick, about 20 to 40 seconds to capture a full 3D image. The treatment appointment lasts 60 to 90 minutes under a dental operating microscope for accuracy. After the procedure, you will have a follow-up to fit a permanent crown with your general dentist to protect the treated tooth.

After the procedure you may feel mild tooth tenderness for 2 to 4 days. You can manage this with ibuprofen. Eat soft foods and avoid chewing on the treated tooth for the first week until the crown is placed. Brush and floss as usual, but be gentle around the area.
